And for a second year in a row, a knitting blog reigns supreme in the Canadian Blog Awards! It’s hard to argue that it’s the right choice, knitters are people who carry needles! And apparently it’s hard to compete with their blogs too.
A hearty, “Well done!” to all of this year’s participants in the Canadian Blog Awards, and from everyone else running the CBAs this year including Raphael and Jonathan, NBC Dipper and other volunteers, have a happy 2009. See you next year!

It’s actually hard to argue it’s the right choice simply because it’s an extremely well written blog that has drawn a large, global audience. You don’t generate this kind of support without having something great to offer.
I’m not surprised that a knitting blog won. After all, it’s not hard to imagine its readership sitting at home all day with plenty of time to write in with votes. Unlike our sports readership, who are primarily unemployed single men who surf the web in their parents’ basement…. Uhh, I was going somewhere with this, wasn’t I?
Well how about that. I’m tickled.
Congratulations to Yarn Harlot, Smart Canucks and Redneck Mommy!
An intelligent, witty, REAL person who welcomes us into her unpredictable and {through
her retelling of her take on life} exceptionally entertaining daily circumstances – the Yarn Harlot gives us all something to take to heart
And knitting isn’t all we do!
The Harlot is popular and well known even Down Under in Australia where I knit. Her way with words makes every little incident in her life a snorting guffaw. She even coins new words that are listed in the New York Times!
